The Morse Institute Library is very pleased to welcome the Newton Art Association for its first time displaying member artworks here in Natick as part of the Art Association’s 65th Anniversary celebration! Over 59 artists are represented in this colorful and varied show in the Right and Left Galleries on the first floor as well as in the Lebowitz Meeting Hall on the lower level.
The Newton Art Association consists of almost 200 members, including artists, art enthusiasts and supporters who come from Newton and the Greater Boston area and even New Hampshire. Members are invited to attend critiques and salons for individual artistic development.
Each year the organization provides 9 artists demonstrations for the community free of charge featuring a diverse group of professionals to inform and enhance the art life. They also provide scholarships for Newton High School Seniors who plan to continue their studies in art.
Each year the group has four to five exhibitions in the area. The annual Bonnar Show is held in honor and memory of the founder James King Bonnar. It will be held in March 2015 at the New Art Center, Newton.
