  • Provide for programs for pre-schoolers, elementary school students, young adults
  • Fund parenting programs and family services materials
  • Fund resources and technical assistance for the job market

Special gift ideas when giving to the Morse Institute Library:

Book Donations:
The Morse Institute Library greatly appreciates the generosity of individuals who wish to make donations. The Library and the Friends of the Morse Institute Library will accept books that are in very good condition and have covers. The Library is unable to accept any textbooks, magazines or National Geographic.

Library staff makes the decision as to whether the books will be added to our collection. If not, the staff puts the book on our booksale cart. Funding from the sale of used books supports the Library’s efforts to purchase new books.

The Friends of the Morse Institute Library host three book sales per year, which support the Friends’ fundraising efforts. Funds raised help to offset programs and materials that the Library is unable to fund through the municipal budget. The Friends continue to fund Museum Passes, the Speed Read collection, and the Bookmobile.

Both the Library and the Friends will accept the equivalent of two bags of books.

Other organizations that may accept book donations are the Senior Center, Assisted Living facilities and area shelters.

Hands Across the Water Inc. is a recognized organization that will accept book donations, including textbooks, to send overseas to underdeveloped countries. They can be reached at 781-942-4816.

The Library is accessible to all. If you require special accommodations, please contact us.
