About the Morse Institute Library
 
Morse Institute Library Original EntranceThe Morse Institute Library was born of the legacy of Mary Ann Morse. The library opened its doors to the public on January 1, 1874 with a collection of 11,700 books. The original building was restored and incorporated into the spacious new addition completed in 1997. Today the Morse Institute Library offers public computers, wireless Internet, and a collection of over 190,000 items including books, audiobooks, music CDs, DVDs, newspapers and magazines, and museum passes. The library hosts a wealth of ongoing events, exhibits, and programs for children, teens, and adults and offers meeting spaces and study rooms for public use.

As members of the Minuteman Library Network and as residents of Massachusetts, Morse Institute Library patrons have access to extensive reference help, online databases, downloadable eBooks and audiobooks, and easy interlibrary borrowing from other libraries.
