The YA Zone, Young Adult Room, is located on the Second Level of the Morse Institute Library. It serves the middle school and high school population. The reference librarians work closely with students to fulfill homework and other reference needs. Books and Magazines
The YA Room features a selection of hardcover fiction, graphic novels, and paperbacks as well as magazines. Our magazines include popular titles like J-14 and Transworld Skateboarding. Young Adult non-fiction can be found shelved within the adult collection.

Audio Collection
The YA Room now features Music CDs. Titles include Green Day: American Idiot; Gwen Stefani: Love, Angel, Music, Baby; New Found Glory: Nothing Gold Can Stay; U2: How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb.

The YA Room also has both Books on Tape and Books on CD. Current titles include Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, Monster by Walter Dean Myers, Storytime by Edward Bloor, the Star Trek series and many more. New titles added regularly.

All suggestions for new books, videos, music, magazines or programs are welcome.

Internet
The YA Room has 4 PCs available with Internet access, electronic resources, and assorted commonly used programs including Microsoft Word.

Web Sites
Teen Links is a directory of web sites especially for teens including sections on careers and college as well as entertainment, games, and mind & body. These sites have been reviewed and selected by Minuteman Library Network librarians.

Veterans Day
In honor of Veterans Day, and as part of the middle school history curriculum, students interviewed Veterans about their experiences in the military at a Veterans Day Breakfast.
See Student thank you's from the first annual Veterans Day Breakfast in 2004. Booklets of thank you's from the 2005 and 2006 Veterans Day breakfasts have been added to the Library collection.

Young Adult Summer Reading and Moo La
Sign up and start earning prizes today!

Sign up for Summer Reading at ReadsinMA. Keep track of the books that you read, and earn an hour of Wii playing time for every 5 books. Thanks to the Friends of the Library for funding for the Wii.

Sign up for Moo La at the Reference Desk on the second level of the library. Moo La is library money that you get by performing library tasks and interacting with librarians. Moo La may be spent to "rent" games, get extra computer time, and earn other prizes. Thanks to our Moo La sponsors: Natick Pizza Palace, Park Street Ice Cream, Hometown Paint and Hardware, George’s Pizza, Pizza Plus, and the Teen Advisory Group.
